A key feature is the local community who have already invested in Manilla Solar backed by local community energy group, Manilla Community Renewable Energy (MCRE) and its industry partners. MCRE secured a $1.027 million grant from the NSW Government Regional Community Energy Fund in 2020.

The project includes a 4.6 MW Solar Farm that has development and grid connection approval, valued at approximately $10 million. The solar farm will generate the equivalent annual electricity of powering over 2,300 NSW homes, reducing approximately 10,000 Tonnes of CO 2 annually being emitted into the atmosphere.
