Single axis tracking

The panel arrays are designed to utilise single axis tracking solar technology, where the panels face East in the morning and rotate to face West in the afternoon to increase production by approximately 20% compared to fixed solar panels.

Battery Storage

The solar farm also has plans for an approximate 2 hour battery, subject to final design and finance.

The project was conceptualised as a community-led project by Manilla Community Renewable Energy Inc (MCRE) and was developed in collaboration with Providence Asset Group (PAG) (now Providence Climate Capital).

In April 2024, the community bought out the development rights from PAG to give the project new direction and impetus, supported by Komo Energy.

The project now seeks funding from sources, with a view to allow community investors to buy-in once constructed. To learn more about this, please download the Co-Investment EOI document.
